As we look back on 2025, one thing is clear: this was a turning-point year for Delwood Sports. From record-breaking registration and unforgettable player moments to park improvements and exciting organizational growth, this year was filled with momentum, resilience, and community pride. And as we look ahead to 2026 — our 70th anniversary season — the excitement is only growing.
A New Chapter for Delwood
In late 2025, Delwood took an important step forward by transitioning into a new 501(c) structure, creating a stronger foundation for long-term growth. This change allows us to expand opportunities, attract greater support, and continue improving the experience for our families and players, while keeping everything that makes Delwood special!
A Summer of Progress at the Park
Following a couple of destructive storms, this past summer became a season of rebuilding and renewal across our fields and facilities. Through community support, volunteer effort, and City-coordinated repairs, meaningful upgrades were completed or set into motion throughout the park.
From dugouts and bleachers to batting cages, shade structures, bathrooms, a new community clubhouse, and our concession building, these improvements are already making a difference, and set the stage for even more growth as we approach our 70th year.
A Standout Year for Our Players
While the physical upgrades were exciting, the heart of Delwood has always been the players. This year brought:
- Our highest registration numbers in years for both Spring and Fall 2025, with multiple baseball teams across all divisions from 4U – 14U
- Expanded opportunities for players including the return of our softball program, which offers a pathway for girls in the league, as well as a tournament team for those seeking higher levels of competition.
- A renewed focus on player development through a Player Skills Clinic, led by Huston–Tillotson University Baseball players and coaches.
- Strong All-Star success, with 8U and 10U Delwood athletes representing our league at the regional level.
- Memorable tournament performances by multiple teams, including championship wins
The Future is Bright
These highlights reflect Delwood’s growth and the incredible commitment of volunteers, players, coaches, and families.
Delwood now enters its 70th season with energy, stability, and a bold vision for the future. We look forward to honoring the legacy that built this league — while continuing to grow opportunities for the next generation of players and families.
